Using the CIA World Factbook, rank the five religions we have been studying by the percentage of the world’s population that follow them. Then, see if those statistics are consistent with what you find on adherents.com.
CIA World Factbook
1. Christianity 31.4%
2. Islam 23.2%
3. Hinduism 15%
4. Buddhism 7.1%
5. Judaism 0.2%
adherents.com
1.Christianity 33%
2. Islam 21%
3. Hinduism 14%
4. Buddhism 6%
5. Judaism 0.22%
The percentages are close to each other but not the same. The numbers are higher in the CIA World Factbook because they are more up to date. The numbers from adherents.com are smaller because they are older and outdated.
